Werner Figar
Werner Figar is a world acclaimed Ballroom, Latin, Jazz and Modern dancer. He started his career in gymnastics at age 5 and was the Champion of Lower Austria by age 7. At age 8, he was inspired to start dancing by Patrick Swayze in Dirty Dancing. He started dancing and competing in Ballroom and Latin with his sister and their careers took off! They competed internationally and found much success through a combination of talent and hard work. Their success includes being 3 Time Austrian Latin Champions and top 30 in the World! At age 20, Werner took a break from ballroom dancing to pursue other avenues of dance, including performing in musicals throughout Europe and Asia, and being chosen to be at Alvin Ailey. Alvin Ailey provided Werner with a dynamic background in modern and ballet, then he transitioned to Elisa Monte Dance Company where he toured in the US and Europe. Werner then fell back in love with his roots of ballroom dancing, where he became a featured pro on Dancing with the Stars Austria, and he is now competing again in International Latin with much success!

Werner has been teaching since he was 16, sharing his knowledge and experience with students of all walks of life, from age 8 to 80! His students appreciate his patience, understanding, and ability to meet them at their individual pace and level of dancing. Werner specializes in International Latin which includes Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive. In addition to private lessons, Werner teaches his popular "Latin Jazz" group class on Mondays at 6:30 pm.
