Dear Fellow Students:

The summer has visited in its full force, but we can feel the “Summer Breezes” are coming. As usual, you are kindly invited to our “Summer Breezes” Sundown Party this coming Friday, August 3rd, hosted by Simone Assboeck. Be sure not to miss it, because we are lining up fabulous shows, including Adriana and Orlando dancing Argentine Tango! Refreshments are on the house, as always!

New Instructor: Antón Gazenbeek

Stepping Out Studios continues to attract the best of the best! We welcome Master Tango teacher Antón Gazenbeek, joining our Argentine Tango Department with his exceptional knowledge of Tango Milonga and Tango Vals (offered on Saturdays starting in September ) as well as Intermediate/Advanced Argentine Tango (offered on Tuesdays, also starting in September). Anton is a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer of Argentine Tango, as well as an historian and author. He has performed at all the major milongas in Buenos Aires as well as on tour in Europe, Asia, and the United States, where he frequently performs with world-renowned symphony orchestras. He has partnered with some of the top female tango dancers in the world, including Guillermina Quiroga, Alicia Monti, Susana Rojo, Carolina Jaurena, Carina Losano, and Annatina Luck. In addition to performing with these professional dancers, Antón has performed with Margarita Guillé, Ofelia Rosito, and Nina Balbuena, all three of whom are referred to as the “royalty of tango” in Buenos Aires. He specializes in the style of Antonio Todaro, is the only surviving proponent of authentic Tango al Revés in the world, and is a master of all the styles ofArgentine Tango from Canyengue and Orillero to the modern styles of today.

Werner & Shimkiri Get Married

Stepping Out is not only the place to dance, to socialize, but also a place to nurture love and passion! We want to congratulate the newlyweds Shimkiri and Werner Figar, who just got married and had their beautiful honeymoon in Hawaii. They are back at the studio now; please don’t miss their classes and an opportunity to admire their gorgeous suntans!

Student Wall of Fame

We are very proud of your dance achievements – we can clearly see how fast you are improving during the performances. We would like to share your success with other students and visiting guests. We’d like to let the world KNOW how GREAT you are! And so – starting September 2012 we are launching a new program to feature and promote our most determined students with their be loved instructors – the Stepping Out Student Wall of Fame.

Signed performance photos of students and their dance instructors dancing will be posted on the Silver Wall in student lounge area, and will become part of the studio’s history and its permanent decorations.

To get onto the Wall of Fame all you need to do is:

Take 100 privates and perform at least 1 time during Studio Events within a period of consecutive 12 months.

We are very proud to announce that there are already three students that meet the criteria and two students that ALMOST meet these criteria, and we will be contacting these students individually. Comfortable Shoes

Since we’ve heard a lot of questions and requests for advice about shoes, we paired with ballroom shoes manufacturer to provide you with a simple selection of comfortable shoes for Standard, Tango and Latin. They are very reasonably prized at $99 per pair, accompanied by a complementary beautiful and useful Stepping Out shoe bag. You are welcome to check them out, put them on your feet and see how they feel. If you don’t see your size, we can place an order for you. Just ask the front desk staff to help you.

August Registration

It is time to register for your August classes! The easiest way is to register online and skip all the unnecessary waiting at the front desk. Forgot to register? – no worries! Just show up to the Studio on the date of your first class and we will register you right away. We welcome and appreciate you all!
