IT'S WITH SAD NEWS AND HEAVY HEARTS THAT WE SHARE IN GRIEF THE LOSS OF ISHAAN PIERRE-ANTOINE, THE BEAUTIFUL 2-YR. OLD SON OF EMMANUEL PIERRE-ANTOINE & WIFE, JASMINE. Ishaan died in the Haiti earthquake. His body was recovered and, it appears, he was asleep when his aunt’s house collapsed; he passed peacefully. Emmanuel & Jasmine are back in NY. Understandably grief-stricken, they want to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support. They are very touched, and it has given them great comfort and strength in this time of mourning. Please keep Emmanuel and Jasmine in your thoughts and prayers as they go through what is the most difficult time any parent could ever experience.
Emmanuel writes:
“…WE ACCEPT THAT EVERYTHING IS WHERE IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE WITH THE CONVICTION THAT ISHAAN IS AN ANGEL THAT CAME IN OUR LIFE TO DELIVER A MESSAGE OF LOVE AND HAPPINESS, AND TO TEACH US THAT THE NEXT SECOND DOES NOT BELONG TO US... THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS IS THE PRESENT...”
Emmanuel & Jasmine have expressed that they would like to hold a Benefit/Tribute in Ishaan's memory; date & details tba. As they are forming the not-for-profit "Ishaan Foundation," all proceeds will be earmarked for the Foundation. The Foundation's mission is to help Haiti now and in future. A mission statement will be posted when ready.

At this past Sundown Party's (Jan. 29th) Help Haiti Fundraiser/Donation Drive, everyone opened their hearts & pocketbooks to help the relief efforts in Haiti … Over $1,000.00 was raised at the Fundraiser, USA Dance's MAC Comp., & Hustle Jam, 100% of which was intended for the Red Cross (Emmanuel's & Jasmine's org. of choice). Emmanuel's & Jasmine's friends in Kentucky also, separately, donated substantial amounts to "Hoops for Haiti" in memory of Ishaan. As Emmanuel & Jasmine are now forming the non-profit "Ishaan Foundation," they are requesting that monies be preferrably donated to the Foundation, as they will oversee where & how the funds will be directed. If you have donated money & would prefer it be given to the Red Cross, please contact Stepping Out. Kudos & thanks to everyone for their generosity.
Thank you for being the powerful, caring and compassionate people that you all are. To all those who have also suffered loss and/or are missing loved ones, please know Stepping Out stands with you hand in hand and shoulder to shoulder. The people of Haiti desperately need our support, so please, each and every one of us, do not forget them.
