
LIANA CHURILOVA, is a top-ranked professional American Rhythm dancer in the U.S. with her partner, Emmanuel Pierre-Antoine. She is a former International Latin Junior Champion from Russia and a finalist in the International Latin Junior Championships in Europe, including the German Open, Ireland Open, and Finland Open. Liana has studied dance for 11 years, including International Latin (11 years), International Standard (6 years), Ballet (6 years), Jazz (6 years), and Modern (2 years).
Liana and her dance partner Emmanuel have already, in their short time together, taken the North American competitive and show arenas by storm. This year alone, they have won first places at the prestigious La Classique de Quebec in Canada, the Florida Superstars DanceSport Championships, the Philadelphia Dance Festival, and several Arthur Murray Dance-O-Rama competitions in Las Vegas, New Orleans, and Miami, Hotlanta Dance Challenge 2009. They won 2nd Place at the Mexican Open in Mexico, the Tri-State Challenge in Connecticut, and the Atlanta Open in Georgia. Most recently, Liana & Emmanuel were crowned the new 2009 WORLD SALSA CHAMPIONS having won 1st Place at the Caribbean Dancesport Classic 2009.
Liana has taught dance children (ages 4-14), adults, and dance teachers in her native Russia as well as in America. She teaches both group classes and private lessons. Liana is a teacher of teachers and serves as a part-time Traveling Consultant working with the staff at schools that she visits. She teaches American Rhythm, American Smooth, International Latin, and International Standard.
Liana’s passion is dancing and teaching dance. Her philosophy is to make dancing enjoyable for her students so that they approach learning to dance with great confidence and joy. Stepping Out is thrilled to welcome Liana to its teaching staff.
