BERNIE GOLDENBERG grew up on the competitive dance floor. With over 10 years of experience in competitive International Latin dancing, Bernie has been teaching and performing not only Latin, but Standard, American Rhythm and Smooth. He also has extensive experience in West Coast Swing.
Having trained with world renowned professional coaches including Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Elena Grinenko, Michael Chapman, Tonja Garamela, Marina and Talyat Tarsinov, among others, Bernie was the 1st Place Youth Latin Division winner at the prestigious 2005 Ohio Star Ball and the 2006 Tri-State Challenge. He was the Youth Latin Division Runner-up at the 2006, American Star Ball, NJ Dancesport Classic, Arnold’s Sports Festival, and Yankee Classic. He was a Finalist at the 2007 Embassy Ball U21 Open, Manhattan DanceSport U21, and Semi-Finalist at the 2007 United States Nationals.
Bernie’s teaching and performing experience include Rising Stars Dance Academy, Fred Astaire Dance Studio, Inna Brayer Dance Studio, MSC Dance Center, Maksim Chmerkovskiy Productions, and Brooklyn Brothers. Bernie made it to the top 30 boys on Season 6 of “So You Think You Can Dance.”
As an experienced, highly trained competitive and social dance instructor and performer, Bernie joins Stepping Out Studios teaching staff full-time.
